Klára Anna Mocová, Ph.D.

She graduated in biology from the Faculty of Science, Charles University, and completed her doctoral studies in Chemistry and Technology of Environmental Protection at UCT Prague, where she currently works as an assistant professor. In her work, she strives to act as a bridge connecting biology, chemistry, and other environmental science disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach allows her to view the environment through a broader lens and explore the intersections where living nature meets human activity.

In her research, she specializes in aquatic and terrestrial ecotoxicology. She utilizes living organisms (particularly plants) as sensitive bioindicators to detect the toxic potential of contaminated soils or waters. Currently, her work focuses primarily on the environmental risks associated with the recycling of construction and demolition waste. The goal of her work is to contribute to a better understanding of the processes at the interface of materials and ecosystems, which is crucial for the safe integration of recycled products into modern eco-technologies (such as constructed wetlands or urban green infrastructure).
